Living sustainably often means working with what you have, reusing and redoing stuff you own and a whole lot of elbow grease. This renovation from Modern Jane Designs does all three of those and it does it really well. From old and boring to fresh and new, this makeover takes a living room light-years from where it started.
Having to contend with everything from a "muppet fireplace" (varnish covered in dog hair) to three layers of wall paper, this makeover really pushed Jane to the limit. But the final product is oh-so-worth-it!
The room has been transformed into a bright space that highlights the great windows. Furniture has been carefully placed to take advantage of the room's assets and create separate conversation areas which make the room feel larger and more inviting. Many of the pieces in the space are repurposed or recovered, lending an eclectic feel to the space.
