We are renting our current house, but I still wanted to make a special nursery for our twin boys. The room originally was a pinkish beige with wallpaper border and a brass "boob light" as my husband calls them.

We replaced the light fixture with a modern ceiling fan and painted the room greige with a white border. I love how the paint treatment came out. It makes up for the lack of any kind of crown molding and visually grounds the room. Nursery furniture is all so low, and even with art it can feel like you have miles of empty space from eye level up but not here.

I made the window cornice myself using a combination of a couple of different Pinterest tutorials (it's foam!). It required no sewing or staple guns - just duct tape, and it's resting on two L-brackets but not actually mounted to anything, so it comes down easily if needed. I also made the art on the sides of the crib. The art above the bookshelf was a splurge a few years ago.

The bookshelf is a Target cheapie, and thankfully you can't tell, but I put the darn backer board on the wrong side and had to hand paint the unfinished edge (why does stuff like that always happen?) The green egg-looking thing is a nightlight by J.Schatz and it throws these AWESOME squiggly stars on the wall in the dark.

The cube storage in the bottom of the closet offers the maximum amount of storage for the lowest price I could find. And we mounted the baby monitor cameras on the opposite wall from the cribs because it is recommended to keep the cords at least three feet from the crib for safety purposes- something I wasn't aware of at first!

The only air vent in the room is behind the glider, and although we left a fair amount of clearance I feel much better now that the ceiling fan is in. It provides nice airflow in any weather, and the light has a dimmer that can be controlled by remote. Not to mention that it matches the cribs too!

The mobiles are the only electronic ones that work with these Babyletto cribs (hopefully this saves someone from having to return something else like I had to).The letters are the cardboard ones from Joann's, and I made the paint color from a few leftover samples. They perfectly match the blue in the crib sheets. I used the same paint for the mats in the two white frames (they were originally brown frames with yellow mats).

The ampersand is my favorite accessory. I had a vision of what I wanted it to be from the beginning and was on the lookout for a long time. There are SO many different fonts you can have an ampersand in, but this one is my favorite. I ended up getting it custom made on Etsy. It's iron and the hangers have about a half an inch riser in them to make it stand off from the wall. It makes for very cool shadows and gives it a 3-D effect that really makes it stand out. I love it!

The crib sheets are from Serena and Lily (love!), and they are where I drew the color palette from for the whole room. The skirts are 14″ drops with box pleats from Carousel Designs. They were originally white, but after looking at them for a while I wanted some more contrast and dyed them (in the washer!) using a combination of RIT dyes I couldn't replicate if I wanted to. It was some amount of Gray, Royal Blue, and Tan.

The glider-and-a-half is a new design from Little Castle. Besides being beautiful it is super functional, especially for twins. I can fit in it with my huge My Brest Friend twin pillow and still have about six inches of room in the seat.
