Drew Barrymore Just Released a New Kids Room Line, and We Want Everything in Adult Sizes
In March, Drew Barrymore debuted her Flower Home line at Walmart that had us fawning over rattan wall mirrors, watercolor succulent loveseats, and vintage palm everything. And the surprises just keep coming: as of today, the mother of two extended her love for design to a whole new demographic with the launch of Drew Barrymore Flower Kids.
The kids collection officially launched today, August 1, and is available exclusively at Walmart family sites: Walmart.com, Hayneedle.com, and Jet.com. Flower Kids offers a wide assortment of whimsical home items—from rainbow bed frames to animal-shaped bookshelves and globally inspired wall art—with no signs of dullness in sight.
“It’s so fun to be colorful, so nice to be cozy, and a real treat if you can be stylish and functional at the same time,” said Drew Barrymore in a press release. “I’ve always loved creating joyful spaces for my children, and now I’m so excited to share my line of kids’ décor with you. So, let’s play house!”
There is no doubt that her two daughters, Olive and Frankie, had a major influence on the collection. According to the press release, Barrymore created the home line to give both children and parents the means to embrace adventure within the home together. That stems from her love for creating a space “where her daughters feel safe and comfortable to dream big and express themselves.”
Once you take a look at the collection, it’s obvious these bold, free-spirited items with splashes of color support that notion. We decided to roundup our favorites that we’d love to buy for the youngins in our lives (and ourselves). Get ready to feel like a kid again!
Rainbow Wood Headboard, $149-$159
We love rainbows here at Apartment Therapy (have you seen our News and Culture editor’s house tour?), so this pick should come as no surprise. The colorful headboard comes in twin and full sizes and is made of wood with individually painted layers.
This lampshade is giving us serious Pattern of the Year vibes. Described as a “ferocious style,” this lighting piece provides a needed functionality while making it wild and fun. Plus, who could hate this blue-meets-orange arrangement?
Pear Bookcase, $199
Not only is this bookshelf just straight-up fruity and adorable, but it also has eight shelves that are ideal for storing little knickknacks, books, and anything else that needs a home.
Cottage House Bed, $299-$399
This is basically the modern version of a canopy bed, aka every kid’s dream come true. The “cottage” part comes from the house frame and hanging window, which comes in either natural pine or petal pink.
This watercolor print of dumplings, chopsticks, and dipping sauce is a fun way to mold a more global aesthetic. The full World Cuisine wall art collection includes food inspired by France, Japan, Mexico, Italy, and England as well.
Who wouldn’t want these long, luscious lashes jazzing up their walls? The lashes are made of wood and finished in a matte black, and they have holes on the back to easily hang on your wall.
Mint Chip Elephant Wall Shelf, $65-$68
This wall shelf is a playful way to put special memorabilia and books on display. It comes in Mint Chip and Marshmallow, and the collection also has plenty of other animal-shaped shelves, too.
Dots and Dash Area Rug, $179-$299
A nice way to bring a room together is through a rug, especially with one that has a vibrant pattern like this. As the name suggests, this rug has dots and dashes across its entire surface and comes in various sizes to fit multiple scenarios.
