Dyson Just Launched Its Lightest Vacuum Ever, and It’s a Real Humdinger (Literally!)
As a pet parent, I love my dog — like, a lot. The closet full of dog-sized Halloween costumes and the basket stuffed with toys is certainly proof of this. But you know what I don’t love? Those fur tumbleweeds that inevitably accumulate in my home. As someone who’s only ever had corgis as her pet of choice, I’ve pretty much learned to accept that corgis’ notorious shedding is part of the deal. Thank goodness I purchased a Dyson vacuum a few years back, which has been a game changer in the war against dog hair.
As handy as the upright vac is, I’m so excited about Dyson’s latest and greatest creation: the Dyson Humdinger handheld vacuum. It’s the first handheld vacuum they’ve released in many years, and here’s the real humdinger (no pun intended!) — it’s their lightest machine ever, weighing in at just over two pounds. That means that you can glide in and out of nooks and crannies with ease, skipping that sore wrist-inducing awkwardness of typical handheld vacs. It’s also perfect for small-space-dwellers who don’t have a ton of room for larger vacuums.
But you’ll be pleased to know that what it lacks in size and weight, it more than makes up for in power. It’ll still come equipped with that amazing Dyson motor, famed for its high suction and strong filtration. Specifically, it’ll pick up 99.99% of microscopic particles, which is excellent news for all the allergy sufferers out there.
It uses something cool called Radial Root Cyclone technology, basically creating eight tiny tornadoes inside that use powerful forces to bring dust into the bin instead of the filter. In other words, you won’t lose suction.
And don’t you just love it when a vacuum comes with lots of attachments? This handheld version is no exception. Unlike lots of other hand vacs on the market, this one comes with three attachments: one intended for mattresses, upholstery, and stairs that has a brush bar; another that allows you to shift between cleaning and dusting with its nozzle and brush; and one that’s made for hard surfaces to pick up all those little crumbs on the countertop.
Additionally, you can empty it with the touch of a button, it has a wall-mounted charging dock, and you can clean with it for 20 minutes before it needs another charge. Can’t you just picture yourself cleaning your car with this small wonder?
And while I would totally use this to reach every last crevice in my Jeep, I more so have visions of vacuuming up the stray furballs that have been hiding in corners for years. I have a feeling I’ll always have a corgi, but life is sure to be easier with a Dyson in tow.
