Easy DIY: Using Fabric Markers

The last time we checked in with Merrilee of MerMag, she was showing us how to transform glass containers. Using handmade labels to organize laundry detergent (with a free download to make your own), she's always got great, simple ideas for adding a bit of style to your home...

Her most recent DIY is using a fabric marker to transform ordinary tablecloths and tea towels into something stylish and neat. We love the yellow she chose to make plain, white cloth look chic and modern. We like to keep it simple when drawing patterns (less is definitely more in our book). Stick to one color marker for a clean and artistic design--think geometric forms. It might also help to draft some quick doodles on graph paper before you make your first permanent line on fabric. Merrilee found her fabric markers here but we're pretty sure you could pick some up from your local craft store.
