Looking for a fast and easy way to get some Halloween vibes going in your home? Halloween decorating guru and all-around crafty lady Jennifer Perkins knows a thing or two about decorating the home for the holidays. But you don’t have to make your home look like “the Great Pumpkin threw up” to get your home into the spooky spirit.

I asked Jen what she thinks are three easy things for people to swap out during Halloween that will make a big visual impact. Here’s what she had to say:

Halloween Horticulture

One of the main things I switch out are planters and pots. Just because it’s Halloween does not mean your green thumb has to turn black. Bring the spooky by moving plants to faux pumpkins, old bottles, birdcages and more. You can even make your own.

Throw Pillows

I’m a throw pillow hoarder and that includes Halloween pillows. Easy fix for the couch and chairs.

Table Covering

Table coverings are fun and easy. I’m more into table runners than I am table cloths. Nothing like a faux spiderweb across the center of a table. I’m in love with the strip of black, white and orange quilt on my kitchen dining room. I bought the vintage piece in the spring with every intention of using it for Halloween. When in doubt put a rat, bat or spider on it. Most big box stores have packs of these and you can spice up your walls, lights and art easily.
