I haven't really jumped onto the whole netbook phenomenon. I think they are cool, but my laptop is pretty svelte, so if I need a computer, I'll lug it around. However, no matter what people will say, laptops are always heavy. You can just feel the weight in a backpack or a briefcase. I've used a few Asus Eee PCs and found them cute, but that was it. I've already decided that my next laptop will be a convertible tablet PC. Now Asus has come up with an Eee Tablet.
The Apple tablet is still in the future, but it's not sure when it will be out. Naturally, that will be a premium priced device. Maybe Asus new Eee will be really worthwhile. All of the people who have been wanting a bigger version of their iPhones will be happy, since this netbook tablet isn't much bigger than a paperback book.
This is a converted Asus Eee PC 701 that has been modified. For now, Asus isn't offering their tablet, but they have said that it will be released this year. The mod includes a touchscreen and a stylus that neatly tucks away. The device weighs about 1.68 pounds, which is really nice. We're just hoping that the Asus Eee Tablet looks like this when it comes out. [via DVice]
