12309-eating.jpgEven if we hadn't had surgery the other day, causing us to spend as many waking hours in bed as possible, we still would find as many excuses as we could for eating breakfast there (not to mention dinner and late night snacks). Especially on lazy weekend mornings when there's nothing on the calendar until the afternoon, eating in bed feels like the easiest and most luxurious indulgence invented. There's something about getting back into bed with a fresh mug of tea and a plateful of scrambled eggs that makes the world seem like a much better place...

If you're considering a meal in bed, stay away from things that need knives, things that crumble or those that are very messy. Best: egg dishes, sticky pastas, chunky soups.
