E-Base Charging Station

E-Base Charging Station

(Welcome to Natalie, one of the "techettes" vying for a blogging position at the upcoming AT:Home Tech. Comment away.)

Rumor has it that we live in a wireless world. Last I checked, I had more wires in my house then ever before. Let me restate that - I have more chargers for my wireless gadgets then ever before. From cell phones and pda's to mp3 players and digital cameras - everything that gives us the freedom to roam has to be tethered down at some point to recharge.

Luckily, Italian designers Con & Con have created the E-Base Charging Station. The E-Base cleverly conceals all your unsightly wires in a stylish 2 ft tall side table - the perfect place to store your collection of wireless devices while they refuel.

Your AC adapters are hidden under the main surface along with the 'power block' (not provided). The individual charging cables can then be routed through circular cut-outs on the main surface and plugged into your devices. It's not clear how many devices can be charged at one time – it could be assumed that this would depend on the size of the 'power block'.

At $180, this ikea-esque charging station certainly doesn't come cheap. Also to be noted is that the 'power block' appears to be a generic power strip that you must provide.

The E-Base Charging Station is available in a mod Orange or a Black/Grey combo online at the A+R Store.
