Once upon a time, in a land not so far away–the mid ’90s–eBay reigned supreme as a destination for both the hard-to-find and cheap-to-buy. And while it’s still chugging away, an explosion of other deals sites (and regular sites offering more and more deals), it can be easy to think of eBay as a relic of an earlier time.

But if you haven’t taken a spin through the eBay listings since you were looking for a rare Beanie Baby, now might be the day to return. Or at least that’s what the retailer is likely hoping: Until 9 p.m. ET, you can get 15 percent off nearly any purchase on the site with the code PICKSOON.

While we cover a lot of deals on high-end brands we love, like Dyson and Roomba, eBay is one place you can go for reliable deals nearly year-round. That’s because, far from being just a place where people sell weird Civil War relics they found in their grandmother’s attics, entire companies exist around selling refurbished and never-opened products like vacuums and blenders.

Of course, even if certain brands are reliably in stock, there’s still some sifting required: some items are guaranteed new, some are refurbished, and some are just second-hand. You’ll also have to do your own price comparisons, as well as weigh customer satisfaction ratings when making your purchase. But all that digital detective work could mean getting a Dyson stick vacuum for under $200 during the sale.

eBay’s search tools also make surfing the sales easier. In the left hand navigation at the search function, you can narrow down by products available to buy now, are brand-new, and come from shops with high ratings. It’s how we found, for example, this brand-new Vitamix for $230 with the discount code. New models from traditional retailers currently list it at $350, making your savings for today $120.

If you’re willing to go with manufacturer or seller refurbished options, your savings can be even deeper, like with this iRobot Roomba 650 for $187 after the discount code. Like with other shopping options, you can select what kind of refurbishment your product has gone through in the search page.

However, since eBay is a marketplace, be sure to carefully read return policies and warranties before making a purchase. Those are set by the seller and not by eBay and can be variable. Its also worth noting that eBay guarantees money back, even if the seller isn’t responsive. You can read more about eBay’s customer protections here. Happy hunting!
