The only thing better than enjoying a few of our favorite things is getting to share them with others. Between DIY inspiration and tools to make life easier, there’s a lot to keep up with. Fortunately, so many great home finds come by word of mouth. What better way to know if an item is worth checking out than with a tried-and-true recommendation?

From a rainbow glass bottle to a cult-classic cleaner, here are some Apartment Therapy editor picks for their favorite buys of the month.

Underbed Storage Bags

I’m subletting my apartment for a few months and wanted to stash some extra clothes under the bed while I’m gone. I chose these storage bags over boxes because they’re soft (so I can fold them up if I need to when it comes time to move out), but have hefty handles in case I need to carry them to another apartment! — Madeline Bilis, Real Estate Editor

Dawn Powerwash

I restocked my Dawn Powerwash. From my experience, it does a great job cleaning dishes with really stuck-on gunk. Last weekend, I used it to clean the bottom of our toaster oven. I also found it really successfully removed the labels on my Bonne Maman jars so that I could use them for cute little propagation stations.

Soft-Close Toilet Seat

I replaced my toilet seat (something I think you can do more often than you think) with a soft close model, and there’s no more slamming. — Tara Bellucci, News and Culture Director

Mind and Body Wash Refillable Glass

I’m on a mission to reduce plastic waste, so I decided to try the body wash from Bathing Culture. It comes in a glass bottle I can reuse and when I run out, I’ll refill with the 1-gallon refill bottle — which is an investment to be sure but will probably last me an entire calendar year. And my impact is just one plastic jug instead of buying eight smaller ones from the grocery store. — Taryn Williford, Lifestyle Director

Terracotta Pots & Adhesive Mirror Squares

I bought some terracotta pots and adhesive mirror squares so I can make disco planters a la Megan’s Mystery Makeover. A little sparkle goes a long way. — Tara Bellucci, News and Culture Director

Simplehuman Round Step Can

I just bought this trashcan for our bathroom because my dog Walter keeps stealing and shredding empty toilet paper rolls from our current wastebasket.” — Megan Baker, Home Projects Editor
