The Avon Lady’s House From “Edward Scissorhands” Is Currently For Sale
“Avon calling!” The powder blue house in which Edward Scissorhands learned the power of love is currently for sale. The corner lot on Tinsmith Circle in Lutz, Florida, doesn’t quite look like it did in Tim Burton‘s world, but fans of the film will instantly recognize its cookie-cutter shape and suburban idealism.
Located at 1774 Tinsmith Circle, the house sits in the real-life neighborhood where Peg Boggs (played by Dianne Wiest) sold her Avon products. According to Today, Burton shot his quirky film in actual the Lutz neighborhood and, at the time, secured permission to strip the houses down and paint them in the now-iconic Easter Egg hues seen in the film.
The now vacant house has three bedrooms, two full baths, a remodeled main bedroom with new flooring and a walk-in closet, and original 1989-era kitchen cabinets and countertops.
It should be noted that the home’s interior was not used in the film—all interior shots of the Bogg family home were filmed on sound stages. However, fans might recognize the backyard space aka Edward’s studio/workshop.
It seems as though whoever moves into this house will definitely have the full “Edward Scissorhands” suburban experience. “This home and area is great for someone just starting out, or ready to settle into their forever home,” the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices listing notes. “The Community has a clubhouse, pool, playground, tennis court and basketball courts.”
Though a few updates may be necessary down the line, the eventual buyers of 1774 Tinsmith Circle should be thankful they don’t have to deal with Edward Scissorhands’ childhood castle—that place looks like a money pit.
The sale of the move-in ready home is currently pending, with a price tag of $224,000.
