Last week, I shared with you the sad story about my recent lighting mishap (moral: always double-check the voltage on those bulbs!) and how it left my bedroom light-less. I found some good replacement options which ranged from mere pennies (ok, pounds) to spend-ier, and photoshopped them into my space. Now it’s time to see what I went with…

Somewhat surprisingly, it’s IKEA for the win! I’ve been crushing on Krusning (sorry) every since I laid eyes on it, and finding this video about how it goes together sealed the deal. I love the soft-but-sharp aesthetic and the ultra-white color. But best of all? The price— only £7!

If I’m really honest, however, this wasn’t my first choice. I loved Made.com’s Mist pendant best— mainly because I thought it looked fantastic with my Moroccan handira. But knowing that I’m likely to be leaving my flat within the year, and that I have to leave a shade in place when I do, made this an easy decision. I can save the dream light (which, let’s face it, will change fifty times before then) until I’m in my next home.

In the meantime, I’m digging this cheap and cheerful addition to my bedroom.
