Tons of curb appeal can generally be expected from a cottage home. Equal parts comfortable and filled to the brim with character, these charming residences tend to possess a fairytale type of allure. We could go on and on about the benefits of cottage living but we’ll allow this adorable English cottage style home in Kansas City, MO to speak for itself.

Spotted via CheapOldHouses on Instagram, a craftsman originally built the single-family, two-story home in 1941 for his wife, but today, the 4-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom cottage at 4107 Bellefontaine Ave is on the market for an incredibly reasonable $65,000. FYI, that’s less than half the median price of homes listed in the entire state of Missouri, which Zillow places at $193,000.

A walkway leads up to the entryway of the home, which sits just off the road on a nearly 4,500 square-foot lot. While it has an inviting feel, the home’s front door might make it extremely difficult to go barging in without permission: It is made of solid wood and is said to weigh 600 pounds, according to the property’s listing on Realtor.com. Among the home’s original accents are its hardwood flooring and detailed wood-carvings.

Once inside, it’s easy to make yourself right at home in the spacious living area. There’s also a formal dining room, a library/parlor and a closed-in sun porch at the rear of the house.  The cottage also has a fireplace, an unfinished basement and a garage.

The home is listed by Rick Charpie of Greater Kansas City Realty. While it appears that the property has a pending offer, you can still keep an eye on it.
