Etsy is known for luring in artists and small businesses who create one-of-a-kind gems for the rest of the world to unearth. And now the mining continues, thanks to their latest collaboration with fashion designer Joseph Altuzarra to create the ultimate decorative-meets-functional home collection.

The Altuzarra x Etsy collection, which officially launched today, is comprised of home goods crafted by eight Etsy sellers from all parts of the globe. Using their specialized skills and his design background, Altuzarra teamed up with the makers to bring one-of-a-kind items to life that would deliver “peace, joy, and happiness,” according to Etsy’s blog post.

“I’ve always been inspired by craftsmen and makers,” Altuzarra says. “There’s something so special about things that are handmade. With the uncertainty we live with daily, being surrounded by objects and furnishings that give you a sense of comfort is so important.”

The range of goods touches every part of the home, too, from the terracotta placemats for the kitchen table to a geometric creme dog bed that looks comfy enough for humans (no, seriously, I’d love to sleep in it). But what all the items have in common is their uniqueness and ability to add vibrancy and warmth into a room.

A nice extra touch: some of the items were created using leftover fabrics from the Altuzarra Spring Summer 2016 fashion show. The silk tie dye material, seen on the notebooks and decorative pillows, makes the goods even more exceptional to own.

Another reoccurring theme within the collection is the use of earthy hues, with terracotta, beige, and black strongly coming through. You can see it within the coiled coasters, woven baskets, and glazed candlesticks, among other things.

Israeli basketmaker Nuni Yavnai, who created the woven baskets, acknowledged the natural color palette seen in so many of the items, too. “I like to experiment with different color combinations,” she says. “In this instance, Joseph chose a palette I wouldn’t normally have chosen myself, but when I started weaving I realized how beautifully the colors he chose work together. It’s such an amazing example of how working with another artist can expand your own creative boundaries.”
