This 2021 Etsy Design Awards Winner Is Unbe-weave-able

This year’s 2021 Etsy Design Award winners have been announced, and the grand prize winner, Candice Luter, creates custom mirrors and fiber art wall hangings unlike anything you’ve seen before.

Luter won the grand prize for her “Glissando” mirror — a simple, yet striking take on a classic round wall mirror. But IMO, it’s her macrame wall hangings that kind of steal the show.

In an interview with Etsy, Luter said that, like so many people around the world, she lost her full-time job last year due to the pandemic. “Leaving corporate America was … very scary,” Luter said. But she had this incredible talent to fall back on, and her Etsy shop helped her turn her hobby into a business.

The team at Candice Luter Art + Interiors also works with customers to create custom pieces that perfectly suit an existing space. Her macrame pieces can be dipped dyed so that the fringe works within a color scheme, and customers can also choose which wood tones they wish to have worked into their piece.
