Even though places like Amazon are super convenient (and we definitely love them), shopping from smaller retailers not only helps boost your local economy, it also provides you with a more personalized shopping experience. To celebrate the incredible American makers out there, we’re highlighting some of the coolest Etsy shops with wares made right here in the U.S.A.

This Wisconsin-based woodworker creates amazing products from local wood, including candle holders, wall art, and even hair combs. She’s a one-woman operation, overseeing every part of the process—cutting, sanding, and finishing—by herself.

Based in Salt Lake City and run by Travis Sudweeks, this shop has plenty of products to fill your home with, including (of course) gorgeous mugs. This Maine-based shop is well-known for its cute linen goods, printed pillows, and eye-catching bags in fun, quirky prints and colors. Erin draws every print by hand before printing them with her team in an old historic mill, and sources the cloth and canvas for her products from American mills.

A favorite of our Assistant Commerce Editor Nicole, this Virginia-based shop specializes in pressed flower glasswork that you won’t find anywhere else. The glasswork goods sell out within minutes, so if you’re interested in one, we recommend following the shop on Instagram to keep an eye on restocking. Otherwise, the shop has plenty of lovely flower prints that are sure to cheer up any home.

This embroidery shop is based in Austin, Texas, and is run by artist Sarah Patterson. Her offerings cover both classic embroidered hoops and embroidery kits—including several plant-themed finds that we’re very much into.
