Supporting Small Makers for Big Purchases: 10 Etsy Furniture Shops

My husband and I are shopping for a new console for our TV, and I've spent several days poking around Etsy for a viable handmade option. If you, like me, are looking to make a long-term investment in piece of furniture that isn't run-of-the-mill, consider these shops.

1. Hurd & Honey, based in Dallas, sells small tables, as well as framed mirrors and other home accessories made of reclaimed materials.
2. With a more rustic look, Appendage & Bough sells cabinets, tables, and other small storage units.
3. J&S Reclaimed Wood Furniture sells a mix of rustic and modern storage pieces and tables.
4. Working out of Oregon, Mt. Hood Wood Works has lots of options for furniture made with salvaged wood.
5. The tables and chairs Denver-based Rocky Mountain Table Co. produces would look lovely in a modern interior.

6. Atlanta's New History Furniture is, well, a relatively new shop, and they have a few nice options with chevron detailing.
7. STORnewyork makes beautiful credenzas and other storage units with Scandinavian and mid-century styling.
8. For a little more metal, check out the options from Lee Cowen.
9. OrWa Designs crafts mid-century-style desks, tables, record cabinets, and more.
10. Travis Hayes Furniture makes extensive use of my favorite-looking wood, walnut. He also has some very good-looking small tables for very reasonable prices.
