I've personally been itching to bust out my fall wreath and felt pumpkins since late August, but the wait is over! As someone who loves the idea of the season but actually experiences none of its wonders (because...South Florida), putting out these little festive touches is about as close as I'm going to get to fall feels (that and binge watching Hocus Pocus on repeat while burning every pumpkin and apple orchard-scented candle I can get my hands on). If you're like me and revel in sprucing up your place with pretty harvest touches, read on...you'll like what's ahead!
Wall Hanging Chevron Shag at RugsUSA, $33.15 (on sale)
I'd probably have this up on my walls year-round, but it's particularly appropriate to pull out for autumn, what with its super cozy texture and warm color palette.
Acorn Candle at Anthropologie, $24
Illume candles are worth every penny you spend on them. They are incredibly fragrant but not in a way that will clear out a room, and they last quite a bit of time. For that extra fall touch, get one in an acorn top!
Totem Candles by Areaware at Beam, Starting at $12
The silhouette on these are so chic. Part from your traditional tapers or pillar candles for something with a little more pizazz.
Sweater Euro Sham at West Elm, $44
West Elm is marketing this as a bed sham, which, it totally is. However, I love larger Euro shams on the sofa as well, for size variety (plus they're great for a nap).
Wood Ladder Figure at Target, $47.49 (on sale)
You definitely need a place to store all your snuggly blankets you finally get to use again, and my favorite way to display them is vertically (rather than hidden in a basket).
Plaid Faux Mohair Oversized Throw Pillow at Target, $26.99 (on sale)
Doesn't this super soft-looking throw pillow just scream fall? It doesn't all have to be browns and oranges.
Fringed Herringbone Blanket at Zara Home, $35.90
If your throws are getting a little ratty, fall is a great time to re-up. Stores tend to bring out their best selections this time of year, but I recommend getting something more neutral, like this fringed gray beauty, to keep out well past autumn.
Slippers at Uniqlo, $14.90
So, slippers aren't really decor, but half the time they're on display somewhere in your home anyway. They might as well look clean, modern and totally inviting, right? (And for someone who would love to snuggle up in a comfy robe to drink hot cider were it not for it still being 95 degrees out, slippers do just the trick.)
Glass Dome at H&M Home, $24.99
Cloches are my decorating secret weapon. They're amazing for displaying all kinds of things: candles, holiday decor, mini pumpkins. Get a cloche. You won't regret it!
Shine Bright Like a Diamond Stemless Wine Glass in Various Colors at Burke Decor, $14
Chances are you'll be having more people popping over between now and the end of the year. Give your barware a little upgrade with these unique diamond-like wine glasses.
Two-Tone Wood Inlay Round Cutting Board at Target, $19.99
You should probably feed those friends and family that you'll be hosting (and boozing) more regularly for the next few months, so for all those cheese plates you'll think about putting together, may I suggest this new cutting board from Target?
Mcguire Hurricane at CB2, $21.95
You know what they say...you can't have enough candles (or candle holders). Okay, no one says that, but they should. In fact, I'm saying it. You're welcome.
