Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: We moved across the country with hopes of owning a house. It was an adventure getting to the place we call home. The pandemic hit the country and everything was so uncertain. We prayed and hoped for the best. When we let go, we found this house. It needed a lot of work but we were blessed. Our home is a love story. It is curated with objects that hold wonderful memories. Most of the art is hand picked from art shows, friend’s, or painted by Hendrix. Hendrix, this home, and making the move was all about him. We wanted something to give him. We decorate it with him in mind and try to make it as colorful and playful as possible. We want to create fun childhood memories and I think design can be a part of that. I love living here. I love the memories we are making together and all Hendrix’s collections of rocks and leaves. He brings those things here to add to the design. I love how he brings so much beauty into our little world.

We all identify as creatives. Sean is a musician. Hendrix is a painter. I am an explorer of various mediums. There is a piece of each of us in every room.

Hendrix's room

What is your favorite room and why? Each room is my favorite for various reasons. My son is the main reason and everything we do in each room brings them to life for all of us. Many laughs and cuddles fill the rooms so I couldn’t possibly choose a favorite.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? A Sazerac Stitches sconce for our hallway. I love this company. I want my whole house to have their lighting. I’m praying for exterior lighting!

Any advice for creating a home you love? At the end of a lifetime, things are just things. So, surround yourself with the things that remind you of what truly matters. Like epic hikes, papier mache hands you made for a live performance, friend’s artwork, etc. One day all these things will be passed along or thrown away, but, while you are still here, you can be transported to moments filled with smiles, adventure, and beyond. That is what makes a home.
