Kelle Hampton is a mom, photographer and writer. On her image-heavy blog, Enjoying The Small Things, Kelle shares pictures of life with her daughters, Lainey and Nella. I scoured the backgrounds and periphery of Kelle's pictures for a glimpse of the sisters' shared room until I finally I had the good sense to ask for a peek. No big shock, Kelle put as much attention and affection into the room as she does everything else, and her photos play a big part in the space.
Kelle celebrates her girls with wrapped canvas prints propped on a shelf above the changing table, where the portraits are surrounded by mementos. In contrast to that finished and formal display, there are snapshots taped directly onto the wall in a little corner, next to a cabinet beside Lainey's bed, tucked under the chair rail. The two arrangements are so different but equally lovely.
The canvases are a big statement for all who enter the room, saying "these awesome sisters live here," while the pictures placed at child's eye level say, "hi girls, we created this place just for you two." Kelle's pictures are an ongoing love letter to her daughters, just like her blog and the room she has decorated for them.
This glimpse into the girls' room made us hungry for more, so watch for a complete room tour in the near future. Thanks to Kelle for sharing. Visit her at Enjoying The Small Things.
