These days, it seems like every third picture on Instagram has a Floyd bed, table, or sofa somewhere in the background (usually accompanied by artfully arranged design books and houseplants). Prepare to see a lot more Floyd in your feed, because the Detroit-based furniture company just announced its next endeavor: The Shelf. And you’re going to want to install the modular shelving system in every room of your home.

Floyd is known for its clean, modern, and simple furniture, and these shelves are no exception. They’re easy to put together, add on to, and take apart as needed. They’re also fully customizable. There’s a tall shelf, a short shelf, and a wardrobe for hanging garments (or plants). If you want to put a short shelf next to a tall shelf, you can. If you change your mind and want to move it, you can do that, too.

You can also accommodate a display shelf that’s slightly tilted and perfect for showing off a prized book, print, or document.

When anchored to the wall, each shelf can hold up to 65 pounds. The system is made with real Birchwood plywood supports and powder-coated American steel shelves that come in three finishes: white, black, and forest green.

The Short Shelf starts at $425 and the Tall Shelf starts at $695. From there, the possibilities are endless. You can use the shelves in your living room, bedroom, office, or kitchen. And, like with all Floyd products, they’re easy to disassemble, reassemble elsewhere, and bring with you if you move.

The shelves launch on July 30th, but you can join the waitlist now. Customers on the waitlist will be able to shop the shelves a day early on July 29th. Now, for the hard decision: Which color should we get?
