Fall is here, and so is flu season. Aside from getting the flu shot and washing your hands regularly, there are plenty of small steps you can take to prevent illness, starting with sanitizing the things you touch the most. Research shows that your phone is probably dirtier than your toilet, and your keyboard isn’t much better—but when was the last time you actually cleaned those things? We found four easy-to-use products that you can carry around and use on the go to keep your phone, desk, and hands clean all year round.

EO Organic Hand Sanitizer Spray (pack of 6)

I only just recently discovered that there’s so much more to the world of hand sanitizer than Purell. If you’re also exploring alternative sanitizers, the Apartment Therapy office loves this brand—we have bottles of it in every meeting room. Everything is made in a Zero Waste, Certified Organic facility in California, and the sanitizer is free from GMOs, cruelty, phthalates, parabens, dyes, and synthetic fragrances. Snag it in this lovely lavender scent, or go for peppermint or sweet orange.

HÄNS Swipe – Clean

We’ve written about this screen cleaner before, and it’s still one of our favorites. Screens are extra sensitive to chemicals and moisture, so you shouldn’t use a Clorox wipe to clean them—instead, this cleaning stick will do the job safely and efficiently. It’s made of an antimicrobial solution, so you can clean all your devices without the use of harmful chemicals, and it’s good for hundreds of swipes. Plus, you can refill it once the solution runs out.

Color Coral Keyboard Cleaning Gel

In case you don’t think about it a lot, allow us to remind you that your keyboard is full of germs. A good swipe with a Clorox wipe will disinfect it, but what about all the grime that gets under and around the keys? That’s where this fun cleaning gel comes in. You just spread the gel over the keyboard, then pull up slowly to get a super thorough clean. The gel is reusable, and can be used on everything from telephones, remotes, vents—pretty much anything with a rugged surface that collects dust.

PhoneSoap 3 UV Smartphone Sanitizer

If you really want to keep the germs at bay, treat your smartphone to one of these UV sanitizers (which we’ve written about here). Yup, you read that right: the PhoneSoap sanitizer (featured on Shark Tank) looks like a little tanning bed, and acts the same way, zapping your phone with UV light that kills 99.99 percent of germs. Even better: It comes in a range of fun colors, and charges your phone while sanitizing.
