Katie Levine and Fluff Pillows: Designer

Jun 27, 2007

Local textile designer Katie Levine started Fluff Pillows after ten years as a Salarywoman. If her cheerful modern designs are an indication of her personality, it seems obvious that this is a woman who needed to be out of the beige and into the sunlight.

We've written before about the luxury of sleeping on linen, so Katie's modern bedding sets and decorative pillows, which are made of a heavy-weight washable linen, strike us as an affordable indulgence in this day and age of $400 bedding sets and $100 throw pillows.

The pleasant surprise factor goes up when you consider that 20% of every sale goes to charity. The current beneficiaries are Room to Read and Children International, both in Africa.

(Note to Katie: the name "Fluff" starts to seem a little incongruous in light of all you do, but what the heck. Maybe irony is part of your business plan.)

Fluff's linen collection includes three-piece heavy-weight, washable linen bedding sets for $158.00. Mix and match decorative pillows are available for $24-$26, and the bedding set components can be purchased separately: pillow shams go for $20 and duvet covers for $128.
