We're both interested in Feng Shui and and interested in creating a sanctuary-like feel in our bedroom. Jason used to be a yoga teacher and I spent time in India focusing on meditation last year. It's important for us to have a space that's not only restful for sleep, but a great place to meditate during the day.
According to the ancient design principles, the 'chi energy' needs to have a direct flow from the door to the window. It's said the bed can't block these passage ways, as it can disrupt sleep. The way we currently have the bed placed, we think the energy line should be just fine! We tried moving the bed against the left wall, but it blocked the window and made the room feel too heavy on one side.
Right now, our bedroom is pretty simple. With an addition of some plants, we can bring the outdoors in and bring a healthy flow of oxygen for a restful sleep!
