FoundRe: Custom Salvaged Frames & Furnishings
Raun Meyn can turn salvaged wood into absolute art. I mean, just look at the sliding door that separates the showroom from the workshop in his new Wicker Park framing studio! Gorgeous!
After years of working in frame shops while also selling his own line of salvaged wood frames and custom furniture on the side, Raun Meyn is finally opening a showroom of his own. And Raun’s specialty, using salvaged wood to great effect, is immediately obvious upon entering the store. Raun and his assistant, David, have outfitted this little Division street storefront space with their handiwork, converting salvaged wood to create the displays. Bring in your art and work with Raun to design the perfect frame or work with him to create custom salvaged furniture. Premade frames will also be on offer at the store and they’re pretty enough to be works of art in their own right!
The workshop may be off-limits to customers but don’t worry – you can see the action through the windows in the totally awesome sliding door!
FoundRe:’s grand opening is Saturday, May 21st. Raun will be introducing himself to the neighborhood with snacks, drinks, and bands all day.
