A very pressing question we didn’t know we needed to ask has been answered: What scent reminds you most of celebrated architect Frank Lloyd Wright? Noses everywhere are surely wrinkled up in thought while pondering that query but Florida design studio Yield has already solved the case with the Architect Candle Collection. Its signature series of soy candles and incense are inspired by some of the most influential 20th century architects.

All of Yield’s incense and candles are handmade and packed in-house. The available scents are Entenza, a combination of eucalyptus, rosemary and birch named for John Entenza and inspired by the famous Case Study Houses in the Pacific Palisades; Scarpa, a lovely combo of palo santo, leather, and vetiver inspired by Italian architect Carlo Scarpa; and finally Wright, a scent comprised of “warm notes of desert rose, sand and amber.” And true to architectural form, the candles are aesthetically appealing. Each one is topped with colored soy wax chips that add a corresponding layered hue as they melt.

Any of these fragrance-emitting items would make a perfect Valentine’s Day gift for the architect enthusiast in your life—not to mention a great olfactory accessory for that original Cassina origami chair on your “want” list. Other FLW-themed gifts could include his fabric line from Schumacher, a Guggenheim Museum LEGO set, or a heart-shaped island (with a house, of course).

Prices start at $12 for the candles and $15 for the incense.
