This Beer Brand Will Pay Your Rent for a Year
While it’s certainly nice to have a roof over your head, shelling out an increasingly absurd amount of money each month has to be one of the most unenjoyable adult-related tasks. Let’s leave the arguments about whether renting is a waste of money to whomever wants to take on that debate at the moment. The undisputed fact is that rent is so high nearly everywhere, for numerous reasons, none of which make anyone feel better about paying the skyrocketing costs. We’d like to think this is why Keystone Light is offering to pay people’s rent for a year, but we’ll get to the why after we explain how to get the moolah. Priorities, people.
So, how to get your paws on this rental cash? The popular beer brand is giving away $12,000 cash to 13 winners who will have their rent covered for an entire year beginning in October. There are a couple ways to get in on this giveaway. First, you could simply visit www.keystonelight.com/freerent to submit your entry. Or, if you happen to pick up a pack of Keystone Light, you can also enter the contest via Snapchat. Simply snap the code on the point-of-sale display and you’ll be taken to the giveaway website.
Now for the why: Apparently Keystone knows the struggle for 20-somethings trying to establish themselves in the world and they simply want to give them a break. The $12,000 cash prize is the average national rent for the 20-something demographic to which this contest applies. While it probably won’t cover the bill for young New Yorkers (and San Franciscans, et al.), any lucky enough to win will at least get a nice discount.
If the odds of winning sound discouraging, enter anyway: 150 runner-ups will also win a signature Keystone “adult transition pack,” which includes a Hawaiian shirt, a Keyston Light inflatable chair (a total necessity for beginner #adulting, btw), a shower curtain and a “can”delier, a lighting fixture made of Keystone Light cans.
Sounds like a sweet deal. We challenge other beer brands (or literally any brand) to follow suit.
