The next Friday the 13th during the month of October won't happen until 2023, but if Christmas is in July is a thing, why not celebrate Halloween early, too? Today is Friday the 13th, and it's the perfect opportunity to watch your favorite horror movies with friends and some popcorn. While the original Friday the 13th movie from 1980 is sadly not streaming for free, you can rent it on Amazon. That said, there are a ton of options readily available on streaming platforms, from old school classics to more contemporary spooky flicks.
Below is a list of options on Hulu, Amazon, and Netflix — with a bonus option for those who want to join in on the fun, but also still want to be able sleep that night.
- Children of the Corn
- Blair Witch (the 2016 sequel)
- Let the Right One In
- The Babadook
- One spooky, but not terrifying option: Boo! A Madea Halloween
- It Comes At Night
- The Offering
- The House on Pine Street
- One spooky, but not terrifying option: The Addams Family
- The Babysitter (Netflix original)
- The Conjuring
- Jeepers Creepers 3
- Cabin Fever
- Scream 2
- It Follows
- The Lost Boys
- One spooky, but not terrifying option: Sharknado
If you're wondering which films are the scariest on Netflix, we have those rankings. So have at it, horror fans! I'll be spending the day avoiding cracks in sidewalks or accidentally walking underneath ladders, and watching Stranger Things for the third time through.
