Of course Martha Stewart knows how to wrap everything! There are gifts whose very shape will cause even the most talented of gift wrappers to scratch their heads. When stumped most of us turn to a gift bag or something flexible like tissue paper. And then there's the old hide-behind-the-back trick – saving the giver from wrapping at all.

The December issue of Martha Stewart Living has a photo spread (p. 144) that will make you want to head to your favorite local supply store (in Seattle mine is Packaging Specialties) and start creating. There are great suggestions about how to wrap various sizes and shapes and some clever packaging ideas.

This time of year we may not have lots of time to allow for intricate packaging. Select a few inspiring tools, like a snowflake punch, and several coordinating styles of ribbon and you'll be able to get creative by making each package look different without using a lot of fancy materials.

Take a look through this inspiration gallery to get some more ideas for your gifts this year. Happy wrapping!
