From Pizza Box to Laptop Stand

From Pizza Box to Laptop Stand

They say "with age comes wisdom", and if there's one nugget of knowledge I've kept from my years at university, it's that delivery pizza is the best deal on the planet. You can squeeze out a lunch, dinner, and the next morning's breakfast from 8 slices, and have the box leftover to do something like this.

OK, so I might start fresh with a clean box in my post-college professional life, but I'm still impressed by the ingenuity and craftsmanship of graphic designer, Ilya Andreev on Behance, who shared this detailed tutorial on turning a pizza box into a solid laptop stand.

Armed with only a stapler and a boxcutter, Ilya shows how you can make a few cuts to the box and staple it back together into this wedge shape with a small ledge to keep your laptop in place. The hole in the front of your pizza box (standard for most neighborhood delivery joints) gets moved around to the back of the stand in the process, making for a perfect cord wrangling tool.

It's a great link to bookmark if you ever have a laptop-viewing-angle-emergeny and need to prop up your notebook in a pinch (hey, it could happen!), but the result is cool enough to keep around for awhile. Give it a coat of spraypaint (or dont—if that's your style) and you've got a laptop stand that only cost you a pizza night.
