Gabled Ceiling

Gabled Ceiling

The best thing about design and decor is its ability to turn an otherwise negative into something positive. Take these sloped ceilings in this shared attic-conversion.

Instead of looking at the gabled ceilings as an inconvenience, the two beds tucked into the low part of the slope create a cozy sleeping area for each child. Rather than viewing something as a hindrance, see if it can be worked into the design of the room or even highlighted as a feature. This ties in with our post yesterday about fireplaces in childrens' rooms.

Have you designed around flaws or "inconveniences" in your home?
