Built in 1888, the first house that Antoni Gaudí ever designed is being converted into a museum, set to open Fall 2016.
Originally built for a ceramic factory owner, Casa Vicens was bought by bank MoraBanc in 2014 and is currently undergoing renovations before opening to the public.
Gaudí’s first house is “an essential work for understanding his unique architectural language and the development of Modernism in Barcelona,” says Mercedes Mora, the executive director of the museum.
Casa Vicens has been a Unesco World Heritage site since 1984.
