What I Love About My Small Home:
First, I love the simplicity of living in a small space. Even though decorating a small space can be a challenge (mostly in regards to furniture size), I love that you can really focus on the pieces you buy since you don't need that much to furnish the entire apartment. Plus, cleaning my place takes about an hour total since it's so small! Who wants to spend the day cleaning when there are so many other fun things to do in this wonderful city!
Biggest Challenge of Living in a Small Space:
Storage was my number one concern. When I bought this condo, I was coming from a duplex with a basement where I could store a lot of stuff. Fortunately, my new place did come with a locker and also a tiny room where the washer and dryer are located. Well, let me tell you, did I ever maximize both those spaces! Because the ceilings here are 10 feet high, I used the height to my advantage and bought a ton of transparent containers I labeled and piled up in the locker. I also put in some floor to ceiling cabinets from IKEA in the washer/dryer room where I can store sheets, towels even some food.

Since my bedroom is quite small and I really wanted to put a queen size bed, that only left me enough room for 2 night stands and the use of my wall-to-wall closet to store my clothes, shoes, bags, and a few other things. I put in floor-to-ceiling shelves on one side for all my shoes, a few shelves above the area where I hang my clothes, as well as a shoe stand on the floor.
