You Can Get Paid to Watch Hours of “The Office” From the Comfort of Your Couch
Brands have held contests to pay one lucky winner to watch hours and hours of beloved movies and TV shows for #research. And the latest binge-watching opportunity will have you laughing all the way to the bank—by watching “The Office” in exchange for $1,000.
USHDish.com is looking for someone to watch the NBC sitcom for 15 hours—which is roughly 45 episodes—over the timespan of nine days. In addition to $1,000, the winner will also get a Netflix gift card and swag that any fan of “The Office” would enjoy (the website listing states that it could include a Dundie, “World’s Best Boss” mug, Jell-O, and a stapler).
While watching the programming is the main priority of the job, there is also a checklist that the watcher needs to complete while watching the episodes. For example, they might need to keep track of how many times Stanley roll his eyes at the camera. USHDish.com said this is because they want to how often a sitcom such as “The Office” is repetitive with popular tropes.
Perhaps the best part is that you can do all the watching from the comfort of your own home—no watching “The Office” in an actual office required.
To apply, check out the official contest page where you can submit general information and a video that showcases why you deserve the job. The company jokes (or not?) that there’s no drug tests or background checks involved in the process, in case you were wondering.
The best way to prepare for possibly winning the contest? Dress in your comfiest clothes. You’ve got to dress for the job you want, after all.
