Summer is in full swing so my yard should be too, right? Yeah...not so much. I got off to a good start in early Spring by taking tarps off the furniture and cleaning it and then it got hot, I got busy/lazy, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. If you're in the same boat, here are some terrific, family-friendly outdoor spaces from our house tours to inspire you to get your yard, porch or patio ready for summer.

Twins Macy and Oliver are all set for backyard fun with their slide and tunnels. From Marisa & Peter's Playfully Eclectic Home in Venice Beach, California.

Audrie and Finn have their own backyard hideaway in this treehouse/playset. From The Roeder's Modern Life is Beautiful in Round Rock, Texas.

Eli looks ready to log a lot of hours in his backyard sandbox. From Kate's "Home is Where the Art Is" in Chicago, Illinois.

A gorgeous pool like this might be on your fantasy wishlist, but let's dare to dream, shall we? From Sam & Anne's Cozy Modern Blend in South Austin, Texas.

Luna may be training for the circus with her trampoline, landing pad and swing. From Anna & Jeff's Southwest Kitsch in Denver, Colorado.

This yurt is actually an adult workspace but we imagine Rachel's kids spend time here as well - and can you imagine what a playhouse this would make for kids? From Rachel's Historic Family Home in Los Angeles, California.

The Figlewicz kids just moved to the neighborhood and I bet they'll attract plenty of new friends who want to jump on their trampoline this summer. From The Figgle Family's Cozy First Home in Lomita, California.

Can young Hunter climb this rope swing yet? No. Can he try? You betcha. From Behind the Seams at the House of Hunter and Harper in Los Angeles, California.

Ashlyn has her own child-size table and chairs outside for al fresco meals or playing. From Sarah & Matt's Expertly Styled Home in San Rafael, California.

Forget Hammer time; there's going to be some serious hammock time (after exhausting themselves on their playset) for Alexandra, Mateo and Sabrina this summer. From Charmaine & Mark's Lovely, Lively Family Home in New Berlin, Wisconsin.

After a swim in their gorgeous pool and some sandbox time, Molly's kids can retreat to this terrific treehouse. From Three Generations Living Together in Beverly Hills in Los Angeles, California.

"How do you like to go up in a swing, Up in the air so blue? Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing, Ever a child can do!" From The Martinez Family's Modern Mountain Turkey Coop in Boulder, Colorado.

Not only do Chloe and Cora have a huge swingset to play on and a cute pond with lily pads, their yard boasts this beautiful covered structure for a bit of shade during hot Texas summers. From Aria & Jason's Austin Oasis in Austin, Texas.

Shiva has really maximized her yard for her and her daughters' enjoyment: a rabbit hutch, rope swing, edible garden and this big-enough-for-three teepee. From Shiva's Eclectic, Romantic Modern Ranch in Pacific Palisades, California.

I hope you enjoyed a peek at these wonderful, family-friendly outdoor spaces. If you have outdoor space that isn't summer-ready yet - get going!
