Are you getting the house ready for Spring? A big part of Spring cleaning for me includes gathering all of the kids' hats, gloves and mittens, snow boots, and scarves, washing them and either donating them or putting them away for next year. But don't stop there; that's just half the job. Warm weather comes with its own accessories list - bathing suits, snorkels, hats, and bug spray. Check out the organization system Benita of Chez Larsson devised.

Benita uses a bench in our home that doubles as a storage chest to hold her seasonal items. But instead of dumping everything inside only to realize the one item you need most is at the very bottom of the heap, Benita shows us her secret -- use canvas tote bags. Not only do they make great sturdy storage containers, they are completely portable. So gather a few and fill them up by item (e.g., bathing suits, flip-flops) or by outing (e.g., picnic, swimming). Then when you're headed out the door, just grab and go. She also keeps an extra large tote bag folded up at the bottom for certain occasions. We love this idea. Read more at Chez Larsson.
