Giant Flip Clock Desktop: Fliqlo Screensaver on Speed

You might have seen the Fliqlo Screen Saver in our 10 Best Looking (Free!) Screen Savers roundup. You might even have it already downloaded and flipping for you while you're away from your desk (or it's miniature iPhone version, like your Unplggd editors do). But on Flickr, we found this desktop customization that brings flip clocks to your regular desktop, along with enough widgets and whatchamacallits to keep you busy all afternoon...

Projectvirus creates a smart, dynamic desktop HUD (head-up display) that prominently displays a desktop-sized flip clock front and center, an aesthetic favorite of our readers.

That big old clock is pretty cool by itself, but projectvirus went one step further by embedding small pieces of information along the edges of the clock, including the date, weather conditions, system monitor, and music playback info. The whole setup is accomplished using the following free, popular desktop customization tools:

  • Snackr for the scrolling RSS feed
  • Rainmeter for moxaweather, HUD vision horizonal calendar and enigma system stats
  • CD Art Display to display music information from iTunes
  • ObjectDock for a windows dock
