Ads for the new Alice in Wonderland movie have me all excited about wacky outsized home décor. In particular I've been thinking about how much I would love a gigantic headboard, upholstered in bold print, towering high above the pillows. Could this look be any more fun?

Maybe I'm "mad," but I think an oversized headboard is a nice choice in almost any bedroom; in a large room, it achieves appropriate scale, and in a small bedroom with little room for anything but the bed, it's a great way to make a design statement.

A printed fabric does seem in order for those who want to try this look... otherwise you might run the risk of the "padded room" effect.

What do you think? Would you ever go for a giant headboard?
