Adopt Shoppe is an online site and store that we were happy to stumble upon. The site specializes in announcements, books, language tools, and unique gifts for adopted babies and their new parents. There are a lot of items worth checking out, even if you're not an adoptive parent.

Click over to Adopt Shoppe for great resources on international adoption. Language Littles are bilingual dolls that will teach your child English as well as the language of their country of origin. Choose from Anna, a Russian speaking doll; Ling, a Chinese speaking doll; Lizzie, a Spanish speaking doll; and Young Hee, the Korean speaking doll pictured here.

Various phrases are spoken in English and then another language by simply pressing the dolls' hands or knees. Each doll comes with batteries and a language translation booklet. We think this seems like a great educational tool for both non-adopted and adopted kids.

Also available are hand-painted maps of the child's birth country. Perfect for the nursery, these can be personalized with a child's name and a date for only $39. Each piece is an original watercolor mounted on acid free paper in either a 5 x7 or 8 x 10 size. Becky Thrasher, adoptive mother and artist, came up with this personal tribute to celebrate her own son's Korean heritage. We think it's a great price for original, and meaningful artwork.
