[This is the 4th life for this little table.]
When design inspiration strikes, it's hard not to act on it! During this tough economic time, priorities can definitely change and we've been thinking of ways to still satisfy your design craving with little or no budget at all. Enter an Apartment Therapy fave, Benita of Chez Laarson. Check out her fabulous inspiration after the jump.

Benita's 4th Life. The message is simple - give your old furniture and decor new life again with a move. Finding a new place in your home can breathe new life into old furniture while satisfying your design and resource needs.

Benita talks about a table that's moved physically in her home and remembers fondly the stages of this time. It began 11 years ago as a kitchen table for her family, moved to be the foundation for her home office, then off to the boatroom to become another desk and finally a sideboard as storage.

It's neat looking at these pieces in generations and when you think about them, memories spark of where you were in your life at that time. Kind of how a song places you in a moment.

Do you have a piece of furniture or a decor accent that has had many lives and uses in your home? Let us know and upload some photos in the Apartment Therapy LA Flickr pool.
