We've all probably received a very well-intentioned but not very attractive article of clothing for a Christmas gift before. Clothes as a gift are a tricky, tricky thing, as personal tastes and style are hard to predict. Is it the same with home décor as gifts?
Modern design lovers in particular have discerning tastes when it comes to their home décor. They spend time and money on picking out items that are of high-quality and match just the look they are going for. In some ways, it would seem that purchasing home décor items like small accessories is the perfect gift idea for design lovers. But is buying someone a home décor item for their home comparable to trying to buy someone an article of clothing or jewelry as a gift? Is it well-intentioned but sometimes far off the mark? Of course, noticing that someone has been improving their house and gifting them with gift cards and certificates is a whole other story.
Have you ever given home décor as a gift? Like art, or small accessories, or textiles? How well did you know the person that you shopped for? And was the gift well-received? Will you be wishing for home décor gifts from your friends this holiday season?
