Glamping at Home: Bringing the Indoors Out for One Night
Nothing feels quite as rebellious as bringing something that doesn’t belong right through your front door. That’s why it’s so fun to have a tree in the living room at Christmas, or if you heed the advice in this post, set up a living room or bedroom outside for the night. Let’s get glamping!
The recipe is really as simple as bringing some of your inside furniture outside to enjoy and feel defiantly luxurious for a night. Like camping, but a heck of a lot more fun. But if you’re a little stumped as to how the whole thing would work, here are three ideas to get you started:
Set Up a Living Room on the Front Lawn
Whether or not you have outdoor furniture, you can bring your upholstered pieces – like the sofa, side tables and occasional chairs – outside to entertain company when the weather is nice. It’s college chic.

Take the Dining Table Outside for Dinner
No patio? No problem. Grab your breakfast bistro set and bring it outside to your shared stoop or sidewalk for an al fresco dining experience sometime. It’s like your own little Paris cafe. Invite the neighbors and make a thing of it.

Drag Out an Air Mattress and Sleep Under the Stars
You probably want to leave your real mattress on the bed frame, but you can blow up your air mattress and make the bed outdoors for one night to enjoy sleeping under the stars. Just be sure to check the weather forecast.

How’s the weather in your neck of the woods? Would you ever consider one of these summer night ideas?
