Glasklasen Chandelier

Drink up the light. Some ideas are so simple and offer such a twist on the everyday that you just want to try them (or make your own). The Glasklasen Chandelier is one of these. Designed by a group of Swedish architect/designers (Björn Stillefors, Gunnar Cedervall and Jörgen Pudeck) the idea came from a round, wooden stem holder Gunnar had hanging in his kitchen.

The first thought was to put a light in it and the next thought was to extend the glasses down into a chandelier shape and enclose the light.

The Glasklasen is made to be used and colored glasses are suggested for special occasions. Crystal glasses are recommended for extra sparkle. Available through (via Metropolis) MGR
