Golly G Designs soft blocks

Sometimes a toy can be a keepsake. This is especially so when it is beautifully handmade. Ginger Warden of Golly G Designs embroiders soft blocks out of her Canadian home studio. Adorned with cheerful letters, animals, fruit and cupcakes, the blocks are made from simple unbleached cotton. Somehow they manage to be old-fashioned and modern at the same time.

The blocks are as good for stacking as they are for cuddling and pretty enough to display on a shelf or dresser when not in use. A set of three can be purchased at Quiet Hours Toys for $48. We've attempted embroidery before and we know what an investment of time and patience it can be.

If you can wait 2 weeks, Ginger will embroider your child's name on custom order blocks ($50-$110 depending on length).

What else is up the sleeve of Golly G Designs? Stay tuned for funky block sets and kid-size tote bags.
