AT,

what sort of window treatment would you recommend? I am working with yellow, pink, rust accent colors in my living room; i also have a mid-century styled chocolate brown couch with brown & deep teal footstools. the walls are off white, but i'm considering painting as well.

Ann

Ann,

Our pet peeve is metal blinds (and vertical blinds) so we definitely recommend getting rid of them.

Are you adding window treatments for privacy, or to diffuse the light, or for insulation? Do you own or rent?

We're fans of: shutters, wood horizontal blinds, bamboo blinds (see the BAMBU at IKEA), simple white cotton shades (the IRIS, for instance), roller blinds (like the ENJE). We also like simple linen curtains -- like these from West Elm or these from Restoration Hardware. If you choose a neutral, they'll go with anything, including a new wall color if you do decide to paint.

Anyone else?
