Good Questions: Where Should I Stow My Printer and Scanner?

Good Questions: Where Should I Stow My Printer and Scanner?

Jul 27, 2007

Hello AT Home Tech!
I have a desk I bought a few years ago that Crate and Barrel doesn't make anymore. It looks a little bit like this, but it's a slightly darker espresso color:

I manage to usually keep the surface area free of clutter. I have a MacBook so that stows away nicely in the keyboard drawer. Now I'm looking for a place to put a printer and a scanner. Do you have any suggestions for some kind of unobtrusive shelf I could stow underneath the desk? Also, my desk does not have the bars at the bottom, it's just a simple 4 legs.
Thanks, Christine

Hi Christine,

Not knowing the sizes of your peripherals is hindering us in thinking of a perfect solution. We like the idea of a rolling cabinet that could easily stash a small printer and all it's accoutrements, something like IKEA's Sonne model. But if you've got anything bigger than a small printer or a hulking all-in-one device, you're going to need some serious shelf space.

We never found a good solution for our large printer, and ended up downsizing it to a smaller model. Anyone out there have some suggestions for Christine?

Thanks for the question!
