Good Questions: Furniture Options for Flat Screen TV's?

"Hello AT,

So, plasma TVs are dropping to near affordable levels. Is there a site out there, or a story, or any resource, that vettes the various furniture options for flat panel TVs? I've seen some companies like Bell'O, but that stuff just seems so... Long Island.

I dont want to hide the TV - nor do I want it to look like it's on the set of Star Trek, either.

Thanks, Bernie"

Bernie, we have only one site for you: This is where we go for all our gadget and electronic info. However, they don't touch the interiors side of this intense area and we don't know anyone who does.

Another problem is, we don't even have a television, and we work with many, many clients who do, so we've been thinking that we should get into this area more and to help people stave off the movie theater/Star Trek syndrome.

Our general advice in this area is "less is more." We advise leaving the television out in the room and LOW and avoiding a big armoire or furniture thing that will take up even more room. We like simple low dressers and media cabinets that allow you to stow all your media crap below without being seen. Blue Dot has some nice ones at good prices. We also have designed a Plasma Cozy which slips over flat screen sets and allows them to slip into the background in a cool, interiors way.

We were thinking if we started a new blog in this area, it would be called AT: Media. If there's interest in this... we'll do it and we'll undoubtedly dig up whatever resources are out there.
