Q: I know the question of whether or not to IKEA your kitchen has been touched on numerous times here at Apartment Therapy. While I have considered IKEA cabinets, they just do not offer enough cabinet options for the needs of the kitchen my husband and I are redoing.
While, like everyone, we don't want to blow our small budget, neither do we want to pay more for a cabinet than it's worth, nor do we want to end up paying more in the end because we got a low quality cabinet. And that's where I need your help.
Some of the options we're considering now are manufactured by Conestoga Wood Specialties (an RTA cabinet company) and 6 Square Cabinets (already assembled). Conestoga's cabinets can be upgraded to plywood, while 6 Square's standard is plywood. Conestoga has only a 1-year warranty while 6 Square has a limited lifetime warranty. However, Conestoga has a much wider range of options, which could help us maximize our storage.
In addition to these considerations, I'm wondering if any AT editors or readers have experience with either of these company's products--or any other RTA or discount cabinets.
