Q: I wonder if someone could help me with a Chair Problem. I recently married and moved into my husband's "bachelor pad" house. I'm in in the process of redecorating, so I bought a chair to go on the half wall next to the sofa. A larger, over-sized, bright blue chair used to sit in that spot. The problem is that I'm not so sure my new chair is big enough to sit next to my over-sized, comfy couch. Does it look too small to you?
I put a table next to it to try to bulk it up and one of my husband's old lamps (which I could replace with something else or "hack" that lamp with a new shade and some paint). I've got an identical table to the black one pictured, also, which could go into the mix. The not-so-attractive brown table with the chess game can be replaced or hacked, too. I've included a picture of the piano, which faces opposite the couch, to give you an idea of what kind of style I like.
What do you think? Is the chair too small next to such a large couch? If so, is there a fix that wouldn't require scrapping the chair? If I have to scrap the chair, what should I replace it with?
